I plan to fly from Manchester to Cagayan De Oro in April 2007 to meet my girlfriend for the first anybody any idea of the best price.
Best i have found is about £760 flying via Dubia and Manila.

£550 is about the minimum from the UK for scheduled airlines but you may find slightly cheaper alternatives sometimes. Gulf Air is cheap (via the Middle East) but quite honestly I wouldn't fly them again.
What we did just last month cost us £320 each. First, you get an Oasis Hong Kong Airlines return (£75 per person, per flight, plus taxes). This is the cheapest ticket and is NO refund, NO exchange. Oasis is the easyJet of long haul but better.
Second you get Cebu Pacific to either Manila or Cebu (depending where you're going). This is a low cost carrier as well.
The drawbacks: Neither Oasis nor Cebu Pacific interline. This means that when you get to Hong Kong, you have to go through immigration, enter the country, collect your bags, go upstairs to departures (zone G in both directions), check-in for your next flight, then go back through immigration again. If either plane is late and you miss your connection, you're stuffed. Leave at least 4 hours between connections.

Try emirates. I'm going this xmas and my plane ticket was only £605 return from London-->Dubai-->Manila.
