Aside from the opinions of the kkk freak above, the reason (heterosexual) sex with a close family member is forbidden is twofold:

1) The genetic codes of closely related people usually produce deformed or stillborn babies.

2) There is already an existing relational covenant with a close family member. Sex and romance involves someone else with whom you do not already have a covenant with.

As far as family members of the same sex, while no babies will be produced, there is still the relational covenant. Hey, I'll be honest, I've had thoughts about a family member, but my relationship with the Lord and my desire to obey Him outweighed my feelings (even if I don't understand why He forbids things, since He allowed Abraham and Sarah to marry even though they had the same father, and he allowed Isaac to marry a close cousin, and He allowed Israel to marry two women who were sisters). The Apostle Paul ordered one of the churches to excommunicate a man who had been having sexual relations with his mother (but it should also be noted that Paul said to have mercy on him because all sins are equal to God, and to embrace the man again when he had stopped his incestuous relationship).

I don't think it's wrong, as long as it's consensual.

I don't know what the big deal is? I think that sex in the family is normal. Ive had my penis sucked and touched since extremely young and my brothers and sisters were all older than me. my step dad would bathe us and we`d all take turns playing with and sucking his penis we did this for years until I was 8, then he went away. We all kept playing with each other like he showed us to it was everyday normal til they grew out of the house and moved out. the fun part was when one of them visited and we played like good old days... and holidays. no intercourse but a lot of other things. I guess if the person was gross and dirty, I guess we were lucky our step dad had a nice penis!!!

yes. yes, it is. there aren't really any exceptions, either. it's pretty much wrong across the board. even if you started out not knowing you were related, once you find out, it's time to call it quits.
