I have a Dell that I purchased used. I have only had minor problems with it, and picked it up for under $400.00 usd. Do a search on eBay and maybe you can find a user named Labritto Source. They have all kinds of quality laptops all of the time. Of course there are many others that do too! Stay away from anything made by eMachines, they are junk. If you are looking for something new, then the Toshiba Satellite is a nice inexpensive alternative and I believe they are still available from your local Wal-Mart. The new Sony Viao are nice too, but not inexpensive. Hope this helps
