Don't listen to what most say... Silver doesn't do much, It just hurts like hell. Silver is only like a torcher device, a mere torcher device. You can use anything really. Stabbing it in the heart won't do anything. It's the head you have to worry about. In order to kill it, you have to damage the brain to the extent that the creature is unable to live. The other option is separating the head from the body. Be careful not to get bit... That is my first and final warning.

Silver will not always be successful in killing a were wolf. The one way that has always work was to cut it head off and bury the head and the body in different places............ And always remember that were wolfs are ten time stronger than man and the only creature that are equal in power to a vampire. And their senses are by far suppeior to mans. And it will know you comming from miles away. And ambush you.................

In werewolf form, the belief is anything silver through the heart or decapitation.
While in human form normal means work, and unlike other mythos, it does not come back at full moon.
But, either way you end up with a human corpse and a likley prison term.

well first you find a nice quite spot in the back yard and shoot it...
ok no in the mivies you shoot it with a silver bullet or a silver crossbow bolt thats bean sprinkled with holy water, holy water pretty much kills everything in the movies.
