Either you are under 18, or you have only recently taken an interest in current events, or you would remember the massive (albeit PEACEFUL) protests against the Iraq War, which made absolutely no difference to Blair's love-fest with Bush....
Sadly, voters STILL went blithely ahead and voted back GWB and Blair, so we are stuck in limbo with Blair for a few months yet, and Bush for two more years.
If you recall, the Poll Tax riots did not directly see Thatcher off - they just notified the Tory Grey Suits that she shouldn't lead them into another election...

I think people would think they were fighting a losing battle if they even tried to.Persecuting the motorist and charging extortionate amounts of council tax brings in a lot of money , and lets not forget we have to keep forking out to support all these immigrants and benefit scroungers who contribute nothing and who Blair just seems to throw money at.

Soon and yes! I think it's disgusting that you pay council tax based on your property...what about the pensioners who bought their house for 2k years and years ago and because it's now worth lots of money, they have to pay an arm and a leg in council tax, as if they're rich just because they live in a nice area! I think it needs to go on income, that's the only fair way. As for car tax, it's a joke, it's risen so much since I passed my test, and it scares me to think what it will be like when my children pass their tests!

The sooner the better in my view. We should copy the example of the French who riot when their government tries to impose things they don't like.
btw, his name is spelt B'Liar ;-)
