(yeah, I take ballet, not to get better footwork for another sport but because I actually enjoy it)

Also, I am heterosexual, but I avoid all unnecessary contact with the girls so they hopefully do not think I am there to scan girls.

I think a guy that takes ballet is a guy that takes ballet... gay or straight... a regular guy. I believe some professional athletes learn ballet to improve their body posture and muscle control. Look at Roger Federer for instance... his leg movement is incredibly light, swift and precise. There's no mention of him taking ballet to improve his movement on the tennis court, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he takes ballet lessons.

There are actually several running backs in the NFL who take ballet to help with their balance. You're gonna take some flack for it, and probably be called gay, but you gotta do what you wanna do. If you want to take it, the do ballet and be the best at it.

There could be lots of reasons, and here are a couple:
***To gain/maintain core body strength
***To gain/maintain overall flexibility
LOTS of atheletes (professionals included) practice ballet in some fashion to enhance their natural abilities via the increased flexibility, etc. (Increased flexibility will lead to less injury).

I took ballet with many guys, some straight, some gay, some athletes. I'd have to know a lot more about the guy to know what I thought of him.

1) He is brave to do so, considering the amount of crap he is goign to take about his sexual orientation
2) He is willing to take criticism about his body and tone it up in the process

depends on the reason why he is taking it... if hes taking it because he wants to be more cultured then great... if he is taking it so he can meet chicks then i dont know about that!!

but closed minded people like my mother would automatically assume that he's gay.
