if it's just a block with no crank or pistons and the main caps are there they sell for $150 to $250 around here. I want to know where they are getting $600 to $800 for them? I have 30 or 40 blocks I will sell them.

That one guy.. 305 isn't the similar block as a 350. The 305 has a three.735" bore and a three.40 8" stroke crank.. The 350 has a 4.000" bore and a three.40 8" stroke.. 305's grew to develop into now not used interior the 60's -80's they wasnt began being made untill 1976!! To the asker.. very few 4 bolt blocks grew to develop into utilized in autos. It grew to develop into commonly vehicles and complete length vehicles that were given the 4 bolt important engines. Even then now not all vehicles were given the 4 bolt blocks. countless the older very severe average performance autos were given the 4 bolt blocks.. like the early 70's camaro z28 and vette.. there is not any way of telling until eventually eventually you pull the oil pan off and seem. The chevy v8 is rather individual-pleasant to modify round in autos and vehicles.. Theres no telling what you ought to hit upon in what now days.. Now at the instantaneous are not getting stuck on the total were given to have a 4 bolt block.. They aint all that plenty extra powerful than a 2 bolt important.. A studded 2 bolt block is a lot extra powerful than a inventory bolted 4 bolt block.. Heck in my street/strip motor vehicle, I easily have an ARP studded 2 bolt block, making correct at 500 HP and dealing eleven.40's.. Been in use for over 4 years.. 2 hundred+ passes and over 15K street miles

it is worth whatever you can get out of it, prices are influenced by availability, demand, etc
3970010 is a very common and very nice block, so is 3970014 and a few others, if you invest a little $ in it by taking it to a shop and having it magnufluxed and align bored and the cylinders cleaned up and ready for a piston and ring install, then you could get more out of it, 3970010 was cast from 69 to 79 and some are 4 bolt main and most are 2 bolt main, the 4 bolt were mainly in the trucks and very commonly so, and 4 bolt in some cars but not many, most were high tin and/or nickel content, makes for a very hard and long wearing block, craigslist is a god site to list it in it is free and you can put pics on there for free to and you can post it in your immediate area,
good luck

Get the code off the front deck and them go to nastyz28.com . A dz302 block could get you $1500 , A .030 over truck block that has a ridge will bring $50 maybe.
Need to see if it was a 302 , 327 , 350 block , what year , and what model it came out of. Most likey its a truck block .
