Obviously AMERICAN IDOL, however, sometimes, Six Flags or Disney and other amusement parks, local auditions for plays and performances. I have seen in some cities in the tourist areas people on the street corners playing instruments at County Fairs and places and singing, Carrie Underwood and LeAnn Rimes sung alot of Fairs.

Do a DEMO CD ....you can find an amateur studio at a Musical Instrument Store, usually posted on their bulletin board......or else just ask the owner of the store if he knows anyone who does recording . It's kinda Cheap.You can also put a notice on the bulletin board stating you are a singer lookin for a band , or to join a band. When you have demos, you can make copies to send to anyone in the music business who you think can help you . Also , start doing local Karayoke Shows .

Really anywhere. If you love to sing, sing anywhere. Sing in the grocery store, at a restaurant, anywhere out in public. A lot of it is being somewhere at the right time. I have friends of friends who were singing in a national fast food chain restaurant in the L.A. area and who walked in and heard them singing, but none other than Steven Spielberg and he complimented them on their singing. Just think if that had been somebody in the music industry.

It depends on how old you are, if you are out of high school then go to L.A. or american idol. If you are still in school then just try for local contests and small things while you are young.

who cares singing is about haveing for just go out and start a band and rock have fun and do shows

Neighbours report you for noise
you end up in court
At court you get court reporters
They write up your story
It gets read by a music producer
and you get an audition
then you get a contract.
Unless you got money this is your only route.
