Bin Laden should have been our top priority. Bush of course wanted Saddam to prove to Daddy that "he was the Man". Bushes manliness gets in way of common sense. There is no evidence of the death of Bin Laden. On the contrary, there is more evidence that he is alive. And all the Guardsmen that were sent to Iraq; always makes me wonder if we have enough to protect us in a terrostic attack. Bush has made a big mess of something that did not concern us. Saddam may have killed alot of his own people but he did not let them kill each other. What ever we do at this point Iraq will be in chaos for a long time.
Instead of Spreading Democracy he has spread death and destruction. I won't even touch the oil factor. No one will see oil from there for a long time.

Well.. what about September 11??

The world is still waiting *tapping finger*

Bush sent troops into Iraq BECAUSE of September 11, so technically, Osama is to blame for the Iraqi war too in a way.. plus didn't Bush claim there were Al Quaeda bases in Iraq anyway??

Surely caputring Osama would still rate at the top of any SERIOUS agenda..

Clearly.. Bush's agenda.. isn't nor was it ever.. a serious agenda.. (a hidden agenda perhaps)

Bush saying Osama is no longer a priority simply prooves this now.. and the world is still watching.. *tapping finger more vigorously*

Not very. Bush had the units that were hunting Bin Laden disbanded. He also admitted that he no longer gave Bin Laden a thought.

When asked: "I truly am not that concerned about him." Third Presidential Debate, Tempe, Arizona, Oct. 13, 2004

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."—3/13/02

Imagine that...

It appears that it is more convenient to the US Government to have Bin Laden still out. That way, when they want to pass yet another set of draconian laws (e.g. the PATRIOT Act), they can say "oohh, the bogey man is still out there. Be scared".

Given the large resources of the US Government, all of its satellites, intelligence services etc, its the only reason most people can come up with about how they haven't managed to track down a guy reliant on kidney dialysis.

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him."
- G.W. Bush, 9/13/01

"I want justice...There's an old poster out West, as I recall, that said, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive,'"
- G.W. Bush, 9/17/01, UPI

"...Secondly, he is not escaping us. This is a guy, who, three months ago, was in control of a county [sic]. Now he's maybe in control of a cave. He's on the run. Listen, a while ago I said to the American people, our objective is more than bin Laden. But one of the things for certain is we're going to get him running and keep him running, and bring him to justice. And that's what's happening. He's on the run, if he's running at all. So we don't know whether he's in cave with the door shut, or a cave with the door open -- we just don't know...."
- Bush, in remarks in a Press Availablity with the Press Travel Pool,
The Prairie Chapel Ranch, Crawford TX, 12/28/01, as reported on
official White House site

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

"I am truly not that concerned about him."
- G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts,
3/13/02 (The New American, 4/8/02)

"He was more interested in listening to the child's story about the goat rather than worry about what was happening to the towers. So, we had three times the time necessary to accomplish the events.Your security is not in the hands of [Democratic presidential nominee John] Kerry or Bush or al Qaeda. Your security is in your own hands. Any nation that does not attack us will not be attacked."
-------Osama Bin Laden, Video tape - 10/2004

President Bush yesterday said stopping Osama bin Laden from committing a new attack on U.S. soil is "the greatest challenge of our day," but vowed that the United States eventually will bring to justice the mastermind of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
In a rare mention of bin Laden, who has eluded U.S. authorities for years, the president noted that the al Qaeda terrorist recently came out of hiding to urge his chief ally in Iraq, Abu Musab Zarqawi, to attack Americans.
---Washington Post - 3/4/2005

"I am confident he will be brought to justice," Bush said. "We've got U.S. forces on the hunt for not only bin Laden but anybody who plots and plans with bin Laden. There are Afghan forces on the hunt. … We've got Pakistan forces on the hunt."
---ABC News 3/2006

Quoting repeatedly from Osama bin Laden, President Bush said yesterday that pulling US troops out of Iraq would fulfill the terrorist leader's wishes and propel him into a more powerful global threat in the mold of Adolf Hitler. - Boston.Com National News 9/6/2006

"History teaches that underestimating the words of evil and ambitious men is a terrible mistake...Bin Laden and his terrorist allies have made their intentions as clear as Lenin and Hitler before them. The question is: Will we listen? Will we pay attention to what these evil men say?"
----All Headline News 9/6/2006

Visit the FBI website below. See if Bin Laden is wanted for the 9/11 Attacks. Indeed, he is wanted for the embassy bombings of 1998 in Africa, but not for 9/11 contrary to what our president has said.

Is it because there isn't enough evidence to convict bin Laden 9/11? If he was guilty of the most hoorrific attack on US soil, wouldn't that be the headlining crime at the FBI's website? If there isn't enough evidence, then maybe that explains the president's inconsitent feelings about bin Laden.

He is not of much importance now, if dummy and rummy had got him to start with by going into Afghanistan full force instead of invading Iraq, it would have sent a message to the terrorist that we are not to be fooled with, instead we are in the mess today because of some very bad mistakes!
And the stupid part is the ones responsible are still in office!

Bin Laden is far more valuable to the Administration alive and running around free.

Of course Bush wants to capture the bas*ard. He is probably dead, but still Bush wants to make sure that if he's not that he gets that way soon.
