well not all goth and emo individuals are bad, sometimes they have a bad life and take it out on their clothes or their bodies, or sometimes they feel like they need a lot of attention so they say to themselves hey I'm gonna get a billion piercings and run around in cool looking clothing!, and sometimes it can be because of a religion like they feel they need to hide their bodies to the lord or something, their not bad, most of the time just misunderstood.
p.s hope I helped Tara

No more so than people in other 'subcultures' are.

But when a goth or emo type person does go bad and makes a scene, everyone focuses on the goth part. But when it's someone like a jock or a trendy, nobody talks about that part of their life.

(Although, as a generalization, goths do have a bit more flair for the dramatic... so when they do go bad, they're more likely to do it in a big way that gets noticed. For example... a jock goes bad, he resorts to bullying, petty theft and maybe small time drug deals. A goth goes bad, he blows up the school trying to take out the bullies.)

They are good and bad like everybody else. However, goth and emo styles are attractive to people with depression or sadness in their lives.
Emo music especially is, in my experience, always very sad. Mainstream music has a balance between happy and sad songs.
The goth style is sad with elements of fun and horror (as in movie horror). Goths can have a sense of humor, which bodes well for their future if they do; humor is an excellent way to deal with pain.
I can enjoy both these styles, and certainly the people who like them, but I think they sometimes try to push people away.

LOL,there are no goth or emo people.People are just people, and goth or emo ,jazz, blues ect are just styles of music that people enjoy.Granted some take it farther than others but that's what gives us individuality. There are good and bad people, but i don't think its their clothes or music that makes them bad!

They are dark and creepy! They don't give you a friendly feeling when you are around them! I don't understand it. Personally I think these are people that overdoing the artistic part of themselves and distancing themselves from others. So many people are running around there like they stepped off a Rock album cover. So much emphasis on looking a certain way that they lack social skills. What kind of value is anyone who spends too much time in front of the mirror to fine tune their appearance? The focus is all wrong. Sure it's nice to have your personal style and be comfortable in yourself, but I say, there
s balance in all things!

Goths are hot. I can identify with that lifestyle even though I don't live it. Emo's are whiny. Other than that, they are a pretty cool group too. So there is really nothing wrong with either group, other than the whining.
