If birth control pills are an option for you, talk to your doctor about timing them so that either you don't have as many periods (there is a pill that is designed to allow only 4 periods a year or so by when it delivers the hormones) or so that your worst days are on weekends. Talk to your doctor about naproxen sodium, this is found in Aleve. I used to have a prescription for it, but it is available in the store. Talk to your doctor about dosage, etc. The best thing I can do when in great pain is try to sleep. Being warm helped. Granted it didn't help me at the time, but having regular exercise is supposed to help. Pay attention to what you eat, see if anything seems to make you feel better/worse.

Exercise actually. Even though that may be the last thing you really feel like doing during this time, exercising really does do wonder for cramps.

ORGASMS work best.
Also, try heating pads, hot tubs, hot bubblebaths, or get those hot-patches at the drugstore calles Thermapatch or something. They make one specifically for cramps.
