Yes, door actuators can be installed your Yaris.....but only by a really good installer....you have wire door locks which make them more difficult to install motors on them.....most vehicles have a metal rod for the locks unlike yours....I run a company installing for car dealerships only and we've done you car a few times with no problems....just time and plenty of patience.

What the salesman says is worthless unless written down into your contract. They will say anything to sell a car. There are after market power door locks, but I'm not sure if they make them for the Yaris. If I remember right, it has the cable type linkage that doesn't lend itself to modification. I would tend to believe the mechanic that said "no".

I bought a Toyota Yaris, too (don't you LOVE IT??) but I opted for the full power package because I was told that you can't install power locks, and the basic didn't have power windows, so I had to spend the extra $$. Sorry kiddo, you're stuck.

Yes you can all you need is actuators and relays, which would be less than $10. You can go to a place like BestBuy or Tweeter and have installed for like $50 each door.
It really isnt that big of a deal. The Toyota mechanic probably said no because he didnt want to do it.

i'm pretty sure you can install power locks on any car, but i wouldnt take it toa dealership for this type of work. look for a radio installation type place, you'd have better luck finding an independant shop, not a big chain like Al n Eds but a small hole in the wall place that does radio/electrical installations. Not sure about costs tho, i would expect to pay maybe a few hundred bucks....good luck
