Not unusual at all. They have communications capability to keep things running wherever they go.

And if they both get whacked (fate forbid), Denny Hastert gets a SERIOUS promotion.

Either way, things are covered.

There are 17 successors to the presidency. They will never be in the same place and all are tracked by various agencies. So, there could be something to your question, but in the grand scheme of things the answer is, no.
