Loneliness is a disease.
The best answer I can think of is...LOVE YOURSELF.
Treat yourself to something nice. Something you like. Go for a manicure, a new hairdo, karaoke, clubbing, spa or whatever.
Learn to eat on time, give yourself comfort..and just be yourself. Never think that some one else is better.
When you start to love yourself, something happens. You are telling the world that you deserves to be loved. And when you send such signals, the world responds. You become happier, more cheerful, confident positive..etc. And just let by...the world shall attract to you people you likes and loves you.
Do go chasing..its a waste of time..you may tend to get unsincere and people who'd want to take advantage of you..asking favours from you all the time with nothing in return...coz they can sense you are desperate and to allowing.
Also remember to respects peoples space, be a good listener, be positive and try not to talk bad about others...negativity is bad for friendship.

The world of friendships is definitely a tough one to navigate, especially while growing up. Peer pressure can be tough and the desire to belong is so strong. My best advice would be to keep your chin up and concentrate on getting to know yourself. Self awareness and understanding will attract others and you'll be better equipped to form meaningful relationships of any kind. Also consider joining some clubs or sports teams that you're interested in and that way you'll immediately have something in common with the others in the group.

Just be friendly and don't try too hard. Talking to people isn't that difficult. Just try. Sure, they'll be people you don't get along with and that's fine. Just focus on the ones you do connect with. Remember, most people just wanna to be liked and accepted too.

You should be able to say what you think. And if your 'friend' is unable to accept you, than that is one who you dont want as a friend. Friends arent determined by number, but rather by sincerity.

I'll be your friend. All you have to do is let go and dont be so tense. I used to be shy around my friends even my family but I just got over it.
