Matt Busby. In the 1960s, Busby rebuilt the Manchester United team, with famous players including Denis Law, Bobby Charlton, and George Best. The biggest success of his career came in 1968 when the team won the European Cup. He retired as manager in 1969, and remained at the club as a director until 1982, when he became president of the club.

Sir Matt Busby, although he wasn't a sir back then, He didnt die in the Munich air crash in 1958 ,he rebuilt the team and went on to win the European Cup in 68, He died in 1992
