I've posted this answer for other girls that wanted to know how to do the smokey eye and I will have it exactly the same as theirs. It's really simple to follow and I hope this helps you as well. I do the smokey eye all the time and I get compliments on it every time. I hope it does the same for you. Here it is:
You first want to make sure your eyes are primed for it. Your eyebrows are neat and fixed and you have applied a few specks of loose powder under your eye to catch the eyeshadow that will fall. You don't want black eyeshadow or any dark color settling onto your makeup on your face. Doing this helps to catch it. Once you're done with that then it's time to follow these steps:
1) Apply a neutral color eyeshadow at your browbone or over your entire eyelid. Sometimes I apply color from a white pencil exactly right underneath my eyebrow to really define the neutral color, but you don't have to.
2) Apply a brownish color from the crease of your eye down to the lash line and blend.
3) Apply the darkest black (or any dark color you choose) at the lash line and blend.
**** Remember, you have to blend, blend, blend because one thing you don't want is for everyone to see is where your eyeshadows begin.
4) Line your eyelids with black eye pencil.
5) Define your eyelashes with at least two coats of mascara. I personally do three because I have long eyelashes and I like for them to stand out.
6) After you are sure that everything's blended well and you've done all the prior steps, take your powder brush and whisk away the loose powder that you had underneath your eyes. And follow with a neutral lip color of your choice (any color would do, but if you're wearing a smokey eye you want people to notice your eyes, not your eyes and lips).
***** Just make sure to remember you want your lips a subtle neutral color. Don't be discouraged if you don't get it just so the first time. It takes practice. Good luck.....

~*When doing a smokey eye, start with the eye makeup first before applying foundation. It's easier to clean up any fallen shadow without messing up your entire makeup. This also avoids the "racoon look"
~*First apply a sheer nude color all over the eye. Go from lid to your brow.(lightest shade)
~*Next, apply a dark brown or plum eyeshadow from your lid to your crease. Since the look is smudged and smokey, use creme shadows and apply them with either your fingers or a synthetic makeup brush.
~*Next, line the entire eye with a dark brown or plum eyeliner. For this look, pencil works the best. If you want a more glamorous eye, line the inner rim of your eye as well.
~*Follow with two-three coats of black mascara. I recommend curling the lashes first.
~*then your ready to go!

You will need:
Chocolate brown, charcoal, bronze, or soft black powder eye shadow
A flat eyeliner brush
A cotton swab or sponge-tipped smudger
How to do it:
Begin by applying a neutral shadow -- like bone or taupe -- over entire lid. This will give your liner something to stick to.
Dip the edge of your eyeliner brush into your dark shadow. Tap off excess powder.
Close your eye and gently press the liner brush into the base of your upper lashes. Repeat along the length of your lashes. Repeat to add more color.
With your cotton swab, softly smudge the liner upward, as if you were trying to blend it up to the crease of your lid.
Finish with a coat of mascara on top lashes
HOPE THIS HELPS!!

Dust your lids with loose powder, and put some loose powder on your cheek for makeup fallout. Get a liner and draw on your up lid, and then add a little extra at the end. Then smudge the end with a q-tip and dust a little loose eye shadow to make it stick. I hope this doesn't take forever. To really put the cherry on top, apply mascara.
