I know who it was...but how could she have done it? She's not a genius? She posted some really mean things and I had to reopen all my accounts and change all my passwords. I know it's a crime but hard to prove, right? If I had an idea how she did it ie: a worm, tracking software, etc. I want to find a way to call her out on this and press charges...this is just one of her MANY stalking and harrassment actions in the past few months. They have mainly been online so is there anything I can do?

Using this kind of software, even I can hack your password if I know you as a close friend or acquaintance or even your user ID. let's call it educated guess. Why don't you try the same trick on your friend now.

okay first of all, its not illegal to get someones passwords, its also not illegal to post "nasty things" using your id. The only legal issues that come up are if the culprit uses this information to cause either identify theft or unauthorized financial transactions. Now the way she got them is not the issue as you probably use the same password for all the listed things you say she got your password for. If she knows you then she may have just guessed and got it, then tried it at sites she knows you have an account with. It is possible to use a keylogger to get the information but she would need to use your computer, if you have a program or have setup your explorer to save your ids and passwords its easier to get them.
Make sure to use unique passwords that don't identify you (like a random set of numbers and letters) and don't make your passwords something easy like your address or birthday or your pets name or something like that.
The only recourse you may have is to report her activities to the sites in question.
Live and learn.

before each and every thing arise with a secure password, use a mixture of letters, numbers and allowable symbols. next once you've some variety of anti virus see if it promises a area adviser, or something similar (McAfee has the "SiteAdvisor"), to inform you when you're on a phishing web page. If the region randomly asks you to envision in back it could be a phishing scam, move decrease back to the position you've been and attempt the web page you've been going to back. desire this helps!!!
