if so do you believe it was appropriate to give emergency powers to the chancellor to insure the eradication of Germany's internal enemies?if not , what would have been a better solution to counter the rise of a communist overthrow?

Actually, due to the treaty of Versailles, post WWI Germany was susceptible to many forms of totalitarianism. There were communist, socialist as well as the group that finally won out, the National Socialist. While the Nazis sounds like a left leaning organization, they were in fact a right leaning fascist party. In fact, the Germans had units fighting in Spain, during the Spanish Civil war fighting for Franco and his group.

Stimulating the economy would certainly have discouraged communism. Unfortunately, Germany, once Hitler gained power, did just that, but his direction was to create more jobs by firing up the manufacturing complex for war materials.

Post WWI in Germany, was much like the post market crash in the US. They were both in a virtual depression. Basically, the US came out of it the same way as Germany, by creating jobs for the building of war materials.

lands have been taken removed from German farmers and given to France, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Belgium and Poland. No allied enemy ever set foot on German soil yet all forms of financial reparation have been puzzled on Germans.
