yeah so i dont how to divide decimals by decimals... here's my homework

1. 9.0 divided by 0.9
2. 29.6 divided by3.7
3. 10.81 divided by 2.3
4.10.5 divided by 1.5
5. 15.36 divided by 4.8
6. 9.75 divided by 1.3
7. 20.4 divided by 5.1
8. 37.5 divided by 2.5
9. 9.24 divided by 1.1
10. 16.56 divided by 6.9

Evaluate the expression x divided by 1.2 for the given value of x.
13. x=40.8
14. x=1.8
15. x=10.8
16. x=14.4
17. x=4.32
18.x=0.06

19. Anna is saving $6.35 a week to buy a computer game that costs $57.15. How many weeks will she have to save to buy the game?

20. Ben ran a 19.5-mile race last Saturday. His average speed during the race was 7.8 miles per hour. How long did it take Ben to finish the race?

So lets start with the first one. Make a division problem with 9.0 on the outside and 0.9 on the inside. 9.0 does not go into 0 but does go into nine. Raise the decimal and the answer is ten. It's a bit difficult to explain but here's your answers and when you go in next time ask your teacher for help::
1. 10
2. 8
3. 4.7
4. 3.2
Okay theres a few for you and you should be able to figure out the rest. For the next part you take what x is equal to and divide it by 1.2. So for
13. 40.8/1.2=34
And do the same for the rest!!

you move the decimal over
1- 9.0/.9 =10

2- 29.6/3.7 is the same as 296/37=8

3- 10.81/2.3 is the same as 1081/230=4.7
and so on I cnt really explain it

13. if x=40.8 divide that by 1.2
40.8/1.2 is the same as 408/12=34

18. if x=0.06 divided by 1.2
0.06/1.2 is the same as 6/120=.5

19- take the total amount that the game costs and divide it by how much she gets per week to get the amt. of weeks she'll have to save
57.15/6.35=9
5715/635=9
so she'll have to save for 9 weeks


20. take the amt of miles and divide by the average mph to get how long it took him to run.

19.5/7.8= 2.5
is the same as 195/78=2.5

Number 1:

9.0 divided by 0.9

The 0.9 (divided by x number) can not be in decimal form. Multiply each number by increments of 10 until the 0.9 is a whole number.

So... 9.0 divided by 0.9
becomes... 90 divided by 9
which is... 10


NUMBER TWO...

29.6 divided by 3.7
is 296 divided by 37
which is 8

NUMBER THREE...

10.81 divided by 2.3

108.1 divided by 23
which is 4.7

AND SO ON.


For 13-18, simply divided the number by 1.2

408 divided by 12
answer is 34
