I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl two weeks ago. A week after she was born, my fiance told me that he is not in love with me. I left because I thought it was pointless to be in a one-sided relationship. He wants to work things out and stay together for the sake of our daughter, but I don't want to be with him if he's not in love with me anymore. While I would love for her to have her two parents together, what is the point of being together if we're not happy? It's going to affect our daughter in the long-run. Was leaving the right choice? Should we work things out?

I am so sorry that this has happened to you. Here is what I have to say about your situation. I was 2 when my parents split.. both remarried. I have yet to shed a tear over my parents split and I am 32. What you must remember is... Parents dont understand that EVERYTHING you do you are teaching your child. From how you fold your towels, up to how a marriage is supposed to be. If you were to stay in this relationship, and there is no love, you are teaching your daughter how love is supposed to be. I would say, concentrate on you daughter, build a life for the two of you. Later, find a man that treats you well, and loves you as you love him. A good rule of thumb now that you are a parent is.. "would I want my daughter to date a man like this?" "Is this the kind of man that I want my daughter to date?" Use that as your rule of thumb. Because if you are in a relationship that isnt good, you are showing her that it is acceptable. If he yells.... you are showing that it is acceptable in a relationship. I would try my best to keep a good relationship with the father for the sake of the child. This will also make your child more at ease with growing up in a divorced family. Teach your child good morals and give her all the tools she needs to grow up a great adult! Start now! She is learning from you already. Good Luck and congrats!!!

Have you tried talking to him and figuring out why he isnt in love with you anymore? Communication is the key and if you want to stay with him, then it may be the only thing that saves your relationship. Dont make yourself stay with this guy just because he's the father of your baby.
If theres no emotional connection between you two anymore than you probably need to move on. Its a big step, I know but you dont want your little girl to grow up in a chaotic enviroment.
I'm sure youll meet another guy who will love you for who you are and your baby as well and will be a wonderful stepdad for your child.
Keep your chin up. Break ups are hard but youll be okay. :)

If I were in the same position, I would absolutely not stay with him. It would be cheating him, you and the child. There are ways to work together and be good parents without living together. If he wanted to stay together, then why even tell you? You will eventually feel trapped. Not to mention, why let your new child adjust to a life in a home with him when it probably won't work out anyway? It would be better for that child to be raised respecting and loving her father, just not living with him. No bad or good memories to get over of her parents living together.

i think that you did the right thing. your daughter still has two loving parents. the only thing that you really need to talk to him and work out with him are things about your daughter. here is something that you need to keep in mind. he tells you 2 weeks after your baby is born that he no longer loves you.what he fell out of love with you with in the last 9 months? he should have told you this before you got pregnant.don't you think?

I have tried the one sided love thing it doesn't work my ex and i have a 2 year old boy he knows that both of us love him and we will both be there for him. just because there is no love doesn't mean you guys cant be friends he can still be there for your baby girl. My ex doesn't love me anymore but we get along as friends yeah its hurts me because i still love her but i am trying to get by only for my son. You should know that it is easier as friends than enemies just for the baby. being enemies is alot worse for your child than anything. hope this helps you i give you my blessing.

You should make your self happy. Children are smart, and she will now if mommy and daddy are not happy. There is someone out there who will love you and make you so happy. And because you are not together, doesn't mean she is going to loose her daddy. How much of her life he is willing to be a part of is his choice. But don't suffer for rest of your life. If you are happy your child will be happy.

well having a baby is hard on any relationship, however, staying together for the kids is never the answer. my parents divorced and im thankful for that... my life wouldve been crappy, instead, i lived with my father and was raised well
