I think the food would be consistant in a franchise place, but we avoid alot of those places because the food tastes good, but to make it taste that way they use alot of salt, msg, and have alot of unhealthy fat. We like the Ma and Pa places better. We haven't eaten at a fast food place (especially McDonald's) in years. And if we do eat out we usually get a chicken salad or grilled fish.

The franchise is a known entity; you can be confident the food you order is essentially the same as what you got at home. Perhaps not adventurous, but edible.

A local independent restaurant may be a great deal better or a great deal worse, but it's the "devil you know vs. the devil you don't know" mentality to a large extent. Also, independents tend to be quite a bit more expensive if the food is any good.

Independent ones, definitely. Less processed food, and homier. Plus the selection of indie dishes can vary where at a franchise they're stuck with a set menu from corporate headquarters. The best food you'll ever get is at a tiny independent place.

Please support your local independents whenever you can!

Depends on what you want.
Safe with Franchise you always know what you get where ever you go, but then you have no way of creating any new as you do as an independent restaurateur. So which is best for you?!?

I would say independents are more likely to have better food.

i in my view choose chain eating places. the sole rationalization why is with the help of the fact I many times recognize what this is that i'll be getting and regardless of if i like it or no longer, no be counted what city or state i'm in. on the different hand, somewhat some the smaller autonomous eating places I surely have been to have plenty extra useful nutrition....i'm purely no longer one enormous on taking opportunities.
