P=2(L-W)
then
P/2 = L-W
and so
L= W+ P/2

P = 2(L = W)

P/2 = 2(L = W)/2

P/2 = L = W

P/2 - W = L = W - W

P/2 - W = L

The answer is L = p/2 - W
