I blame Harlequins novels and hollywood movies for that myth... You find someone with a shared outlook on life, a companion to witness and validate your existence but that doesn't mean it has to be forever or that somehow they were "predestined" to be with you....Bitter? maybe. Realistic? you betcha

True hapiness is based in tolerance and compassion. If you are looking for you soul mate you might loose the opportunity to learn from a person who might not be your twin spirit, but who might have a lot to give you. Living the rest of your life with your soul mate, I think, can be quite boring. And with so many people on the planet, what if your twin spirit is a nomad living in Mongolia? I think the chances are smaller.

Can't have a soul-mate if you don't accept the soul mythology to begin with. Same with twin spirit & spirit.
Pop culture romanticism leads to unrealistic expectations & many painful dissappointments.
I recommend realistic views, such as not expecting things that we aren't going to get & treating others with kindness & respect whether they always do what we think they should or not. Not very exciting, but it works for stable, long term & fulfilling relationships.
Peace,
;-)

I think someone is out there, but since the world is so crowded and impersonal , It's a lot harder to meet that person. I think it makes you a pessimist, but there's always hope.

'I already met her, but she had too many hangups with me being black'
even though that statement is contradictory, u seem to have a better grasp on the concept than most others

I already met her, but she had too many hangups with me being black. Her dad being a KKK member may have had some things to do with it too, but he was okay with me and actually wanted me to go out with and marry his daughter.
