i just bought an ipod, but i really don't want to pay $1 for each song i download.

every site that i've been to charges about 20$ a month for downloads.

does anyone know a site that i can go to download FREE music.

when i say free, i mean FREE.

no credit card payments or anything.

can someone PLEASE help?

you can download either limewire or morpheus. they are programs where you can download audio and video and documents... FOR FREE. once they are saved on your computer, you can copy them to your ipod. the downloads are quick depending on size. music is about 3-5 MB SO ITS TAKES ABOUT 2 MINUTES.

Just pay for Itunes songs its the safest way to go. There is the one site i've heard of but i havent tried it out yet. Its called filelodge.com.

You can sign up with Musicmatch for "free" for a amount of time... BUT... After that it COST.
I don't know of any that gives away FREE downloads without charging some amount ($) for this service.

The sites www.coolgoose.com, www.cooltoad.com, may contain copyrighted music which they permit to be downloaded totally free (yeah, I mean FREE), which they are not supposed to and you could be in trouble with the RIAA (music industry's strong arm) for downloading from them...

you are adviced not to download free copyrighted music from the web ;-)

Itunes has special free songs that are on their front page but I would not suggest Limewire because it happens to be illegal and it's really crappy.
