Have you ever worked with another house-keeping business before? It would let you have 'hands-on' experience. If not call some services and ask questions like:

What do they charge?
What does it include?
What are considered extras and how much do they cost?
Do they supply their own cleaning products?
Etc...

Then place ads where you'd like to work. Local stores or local newspaper (word of mouth works great too!) Maybe offer the same services as the professionals but at a slightly lower price, or include some of the extras for free. Will YOU be doing the cleaning or are you going to hire people? Try to find someone who works in a service and find out what their salary is like.

I started my own house keeping business about 3 months ago, and love it. It is very easy for one get the word out, make some business cards from your computer, and some fliers and post them up around your home town. Put and ad in you local newspaper. And once you do get some clients offer them a one-time discount for anyone they reffer to you.

Advertise! My mom did that when I was little. Her little business was called Blondies. Hahaha. She made a lot of extra money. Advertise in the newspaper or find the bulleton board at libraries or where ever so you can print out a good looking adversitment with your phone numbers that they can rip them off.
