Sign up on the hotel web sites for on-line specials. I am staying at the Bellagio for 159 a night in December.

You can sometimes find great deals on the hotel websites by clicking on their promotions button. Check the Bellagio, Venetian, and Mandalay Bay websites as these deals are rarely advertised on travel agency websites such as Orbitz, Expedia, or Travelocity.

Another way to try to keep your price down is to book your room through www.priceline.com. Using priceline, you name your own price. The hotel will either accept or reject your offer and you can then try again with a different hotel or by raising your price. The only downfall of priceline is that if your price is accepted, your credit card will be charged the full amount immediately and there are no refunds. That's why the prices can be so good. To give you an example of what priceline can do for you, my sister booked three nights at the Mirage two years ago during the offseason. She got her room for $35 per night! Vegas hotels hate empty rooms. Empty rooms mean no income and less gamblers.

Good Luck!

Your best bet, no pun intended, is to take a bunch of cash with you. Go change 5k into chips at the roulette table of the desired hotel. Now you will play just a few games to stay busy and get free drinks. After about 6 hours of gambling ask the pit boss for a room in the hotel. You need to look good and act confident. Winning would also help.

If those are the dates for the NBA All-Star game, I think you are too late.
Las Vegas is booked up tight and the room rates are running high
You might need to look in a town outside of Las Vegas and drive in each day

Check www.Consolidatedresorts.com it is a time share company but the deal was fantastic. If that doesn't work look at www.intervalworld.com they both require a membership but it may be worth your time to look. I just spent seven nights in Orlando at a 5 star for $65 a night!
