I think it's because Democrat Politicians want riots and businesses looted and burned down.

One democrat wants to bring the draft back, but in a unique way. He wants to ensure that the draft is truly equal. It doesn't matter if you're rich or poor, you would have to go (with an exception of college students).

In effect, he wants those that support wars like Iraq to put their money where their mouth is (or in this case, their children in the line of fire). His line of thinking is that if the president's children were forced to go to war (along with those of the congress-critters), then they would not go to war unless it was a really really good reason backed by solid evidence. This would help prevent debacles like Iraq from occuring in the future.

A nice political gimmick, but it won't amount to anything. He doesn't have the support of his own party, let alone support from the republicans.

It's funny how the Democrats want to place the blame on Republicans for the war in Iraq. Where were they when Democrats agreed with the war? I guess they had their heads buried in the sand during this stage of the process.

Now they want to try to threaten the Republicans with fear of the draft. In my opinion, if you are fearful of the draft then you have no right to consider yourself an American. If you are not willing to fight for this country then you should not be able to enjoy the fruits of someone else's labor or death. Fortunately, for you, you do have those rights.

In their uneducated line of thinking, I guess the Democrats think that they won't have to serve should their name be called in the draft. Sorry, I almost forgot - they won't serve, they will run!

They believe that threatening to bring back the draft will scare people a cause them to join the loony lefties in their Cut & Run philosophy. It's a bunch of bovine excrement because they know that any of them that actually votes for this will find their worthless butt kicked out of the government next election cycle.
