When I was 3 years old I saw an object in my front yard very early in the morning before anybody in the neighborhood ever got up. It was about the size of a soccer ball and was shiny gold in color. It was pulsing up and down about a foot each time. I remember this like it was yesterday (I am now 63 years old). I told my mom about it and when she came to look it shot up in the air at blistering speed and she never got to see it. It came back two more times but she never saw it. It never made a sound. This happened back in 1946 and I will never forget it. I saw another one when I was 19 years old it was at midnight and it flew over my house. It looked like it was on fire. It never made a noise either. Nobody was around at the time so I could show them. I had just got back from a date and everybody was in bed. This is my experience with UFO's.

So far we've seen no verifiable evidence of other sentient species. That said, I believe with some certainty that somewhere in our galaxy at some past, present, or future time, a sentient species did/does/will exist.

Why haven't we heard from them?

Perhaps they are not technologically advanced enough to be heard. They may be mastering stone knives right now, or experiencing their own Rennaisance.

Perhaps they are here right now. Any species sufficiently advanced to travel interstellar distances would be able to hide or masquerade with ease. That Boeing 737 that just flew by may be a surveillance craft.

Perhaps they are so far away they will never notice us and vice versa.

Perhaps they existed a million years ago and died out.

Perhaps they will exist a million years from now.

It is really impossible to know for sure.

The Drake Equation suggests that there is sentient life out there. The Fermi Paradox casts doubt. Play around with the calculation form at the second link and see what you think.

I am not saying it was a ufo, just that what I saw was weird.

I was at my vacation house in lake Havasu city and had gotten home about 9pm. I was on my driveway and saw what looked like a plane flying just a few hundred feet overhead. It was roughly triangualr in shape, but it did not make any noise. It was too dark to really pick out details on it, but it was a black shape moving silently, no lights or anything. The light from the city was shining off the bottom half but that was all.

When I was sixteen, I saw some red lights the sky. They were so far away you could barely see them. They looked like a dot. And looked like they were out with the stars. There were around eight of them. They would goes fast and suddenly stop. They would swirl around each other. Sometimes would fade in and out of eye sight. I was with three other people. I watched them for a half hour and went to sleep. They stayed up and watch them for a hour and a half. Most people think I'm crazy when I say this so I usually keep it to myself. Lol. But, other people saw it and we are not lying. But, I could care less if anyone believes me anyway, because I saw what I saw and it doesn't make a difference.

As I was traveling in my grandma's truck, I saw lights coming from nowhere in the pitch black sky. They followed us as we drove to I-don't-know-where. They were circular, bright lights which seemed to never disappear.

Another time, about two months ago, my mom was driving toward our house and we saw lights brighter than anything right behind us. It couldn't have been a car's headlights since they were too close to us--way closer than a car could ever get. My mom sped up, and we lost the mysterious lights. Of course, I was extremely worried.

If I've ever seen an alien? Sure! In the news--they're usually hoaxes, though--and the drawing of an alien I keep in my binder.

Like 6 years ago my family went on vacation to Wildwood, NJ, and my brother, my cousin, and I were walking on the beach and we looked up and saw a black triangular thing just hovering. Didn't look that big but it was prolly way up there. We all looked away for a sec. or 2 and looked back up and it was gone..We could not find it again. We asked everybody that was standing around us if they saw it but nobody else saw it but us.

I saw a Triangular vessal about two years ago over the Wisconsin plains. Black metal, red lights. It kind of looked like the imperial star destroyer form star wars, only smaller, less weapons, much smoother, and no tower

Yes it was about a year ago. I saw two streaks of light from the same origin go out in two different directions. One streak of light was white and the other was red. Then they dissapeared. I live in Los Angeles and it was west of me.
