I believe that part of 'Hannibal' was set in Italy.

It was also a fantastic movie but the book was better!

You know, the one about the cannibal starring Anthony Hopkins.

Under The Tuscan Sun. And Captain Corelli's Mandolin did not take place in Italy. He was Italian and they were Italian troops, but they were on a Greek Island.

Read "The Testament" by John Grisham. The entire book is set in Italy and he gives some great descriptions of language/scenery/people.
