Yes and no. I enjoy the holiday, enjoy getting together with my family and friends. My bf's little girl is 5 and believes in Santa, so that is fun. I am remodeling a Barbie house my dad made for me when I was little, to give to her and I'm having a lot of fun with that. I hate the crowds, the traffic, trying to come up with gift ideas for people who have/buy everything they want anyway. And my dad is in a nursing home, this will be the 2nd Christmas without him there with us. Thanksgiving was much harder for me this year.

would it be right to say yes and no?

to the yes part, I have 2 daughters and 5 Grandchildren and the joy on Christmas morning knowing they will be full of joy and happiness, smiles and laughter will abound in their homes for the Grandbabies are still young enough to believe in Santa and the magic of Christmas. Knowing that I have helped my girls fulfill their little ones wish list from Santa lightens my daughters anxiety of the added expenses during the holidays which in turn I have given them the best possible gift.

as for the no...I will not be with them, for they are military and do not live in the states. For the past 4 years I have phone calls and internet connection on Christmas morning, this year I have one that will miss Christmas with his babies for he is not due to come out of Iraq until Jan. my son-in-law has missed birthdays and school programs and holidays and he writes to me saying he knows how hard it is on me being away from my girls and the babies for he too misses seeing them and we pray for each other to hang on and stay safe. Being without your loved ones has got to be the hardest thing a parent goes through especially during the holidays

Over the years I had grown weary of the hype with Christmas...too much energy on the material aspect & not enough on the spiritual...less on the reason for the season. However, after this past year (post-Katrina), I am looking forward to the holiday season...being thankful for being alive, getting a chance to see family though we are spread thin these days & being able to say "thanks" for HIS grace.

no this is a stressful time of year. Money is tight and I know that Christmas should not be about gifts, but it is. I have so many people that are so generous to children and myself I feel I need to be as generous. The whole month of December is about worrying about rent paying bills and getting gifts for everyone. I wish I didn't have to worry so much

Yes, although It's very hard this year, my ex husband passed away on November 72Th last year and we were still friends, and we still spent the Holidays together as a Family. I'm close with his Family, so we all still spend all the Holidays together.

No, Christmas is purely propaganda and the only one who gain are companies who made billions of profit from announcing it to soon for us to spend more money to buy gifts and present.
