My housekeeper threw my manual book away. The brand is Whirpool. No 1 is empty. No 2 has some kind of funnel in the middle. No 3 has a large-holed drainer. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

You're gonna have to experiment. If you use the rule of thumb left to right, then #1 is pre-soak...#2 is wash, and #3 is final rinse. At least that's how mine is.
