Not at all. We... ahhhhh.... I mean THEY aren't listening to your calls. Why would THEY do that. You aren't doing anything illegal, are you?

It is possible, to listen in on conversations, with something as simple as a hand held scanner. Cell phones work on radio waves, which means that all you need is a receiver on the correct frequency to listen in. New cell phones also have a GPS built in, so that by triangulation of the signal, you can locate the user.

There is nothing private about a cell phone call, just like there is nothing private about e-mail if you have a wireless connection. Even with a cable, e-mail is only somewhat secure when encrypted.

You should be wise and always assume your phone is monitered. Anyone can monitor phones these days.
