Now everyone I have spoken too has pretty much said "Whether you agree with Griffin or not, he has the right to say what he said in our country"
So who is more in touch with mainstream opinion? the people or the politicians? It seems to me the politicians want to be the ones who set and control this 'mainstream' opinion.

My guess is that they listen to their political consultants, who read the poll results.

Most politicians have staff members who do nothing but research mainstream opinions.
Since Nick Griffin is in the UK, I really couldn't speak to what their rights are. I am not that familiar with what your laws are regarding free speech.

How do politicians think they know what mainstream opinion is? -The shrill voices of the vocal minorities through protests, major news sources, lobbyists, and agenda-based polls.
So who is more in touch with mainstream opinion? the people or the politicians? - Neither, the group that knows us best is the product marketeers.

Very good observation and analysis. I agree that the people control public opinion but the politicians are trying to take that control away. They are trying to tell us how and what to think by attaching emotions to their respective political agendas.
This seems to be the case in nearly every "Western" country.

Bill Clinton never had any beliefs of his own.
He never believed in anything except himself.
He looked at polls every single day to decide what he believed.
While politician in Arkansas, all he ever believed in was making money for himself with corruption.
I warned Jim Guy Tucker, to get away from Clinton, or he would end up in prison.
He didn't listen, and ended up in prison.
Clinton escaped, as with Whitewater.

the media direct the thoughts of the day, and hide thoughts they dont want you to think about, same as the politicion, for instance
there are many britains who know full well that this island has been betrayed and we want it back. but how often do you see realy powerfull demands in the papers for a vote on europe, almost never, so this desire of the people is hidden from view directed by the media on behalf of the traitors.

I've heard they look at polls pick and chose the subjects that they can manipulate to suit themselves,turn a blind eye to opinions that they can't agree with and end up doing as they well please...Kinda like this site.Huh!!!!l

They don't actually think they know or care that they don't! The politicians have manipulated the middle-class for so long with this jargon they will be surprised when we finally stand-up for ourselves and say NO MORE - ENFORCE OUR LAWS!

The mainstream opinion they really care about is the opinion of their constituents, and they get bags of mail and slews of email plus phone calls.
