I work as an optometrist in the middle east. I wish to migrate to canada and pursue an entirely different career..So, is it really worth leaving a secure job here and migrating to canada...pls advise

Well since you're saying you're going to start fresh, your only obstacle may be making sure you have enough money to get your new career on track and surviving until you find a job.

Lots of professional immigrants to Canada though have found out the hard way that their education or certifications aren't valid here. If you are going to come here and depend on education or certificates from a foreign institution, I would try to make sure that they are valid in Canada. And if not, I would check to see what would be required to upgrade them to Canadian standards.

It depends on what career path you want to pursue. Canada is actively seeking people from outside of the country for some positions. Some are paying a premium for qualified personnel. I suggest having something firmly lined up and funds to support yourself for a few months before making a move.

Canada is great, you wil love it there if you can stand the cold. I'd stay south of Ontario though.
