I have an inexpensive Radio Shack keyboard (Model: MD-501), which I want to use as a midi controller. It has a single barrel-shaped midi output. I know it's not the greatest, but I still want to use it. What type of midi cable do I need? I have a Soundblaster card with a midi input (squarish and flat). Please excuse my lack of knowledge on this subject.

Great question and fortunately you've asked it at a perfect time. I run a Radio Shack store and also play keyboards professionally. I have 3 keyboards that I bought thru the store, each using midi cables which I also sell. It's a package of 3 cables in case you ever need extras. My keyboards have 2 connectors on the back, an "in" and an "out" which enables me to play thru my sound system as well as download more tones and beats. We're able to go to www.RadioShack.com and download the needed files for free. http://www.radioshack.com/search/manualResults.jsp?origkw=md-501&kw=md-501&kwCatId=&hideBackToAll=true Copy and paste that site to your browser and you'll be able to find any and all answers to your midi problems. Let me know if I can help further. Larry Radio Shack 01-9590
