Not all women. Not me. I like chocolate all month round lol. I don't know. Apparently chocolate has a special chemical in it. When you eat it, it makes you fell happy just like when you in love. So I think maybe thats why, I guess it makes them feel better and forget about the pain for a bit.

I'm not sure they necessarily do but it could be to do with the iron in chocolate. Blood loss results in a reduction of iron levels. I'm not sure though. I was severely anemic when I was pregnant with my second child and even the smell of chocolate made me throw up.

For me, it's because of the drop in blood-sugar. That would make a lot of sense. Women do lose a lot of blood on their periods.

it has endorphins that make you feel happy..
and i think it has something to do with comforting yourself. when you have your period you sometimes get emotional and stuff so chocolate is good to calm and comfort yourself.
