I needed a new knob and had a difficult time finding something that would work. I tried the following:
1. Second hand store
2. Home Depot/Lowes
3. Michaels
4. On line
I finally found something at Michaels that would work. I would call the company who made your stereo before doing anything else. It may save you a lot of time.

Go to a stereo shop and when no-one is looking, pull one off a display stereo, then leave quickly and quietly.

Buy a new stereo - or 2nd hand one. And stop making references to "knobs" - you'll just get everyone's attention.
