I have 4 gig of ram 1T of hd space, only necessary programs open, yet programs take almost 30 sec to open. All of the junk in startup is disabled.
Suggestions?

Great question and thanks for participating. It's obvious that you have a great deal of knowledge with computers simply because you wouldnt have the particular equipment in your computer if you didnt. There are a few things that can cause that problem as you know, cookies and temp files being the main cause. Also, by defragging the hard drive will help. The registry files can also cause problems of that nature and will need to be cleaned up and repaired if necessary. Registry cleaners are available at no charge in some cases and can be found by using www.google.com. Last of all, do not overlook the possibilities of trojans, viruses, etc which can also cause that problem for you. WHENEVER COMP.IS SLOW THERE R reasons for it
1.spyware or adware
2.viruses
3.lot of programmes installed on operating
4.fragmentation
solutions
1.2.for spyware/viruses use any good antivirus,like pcciilin,Mcfae,for spyware use ad-aware or yahoo antispy
3.reduce unwanted programmes from operating disk
4.use diskeeper
all these softwares u can down load free trial versions from download .com

You may have a virus scanner scanning your computer and not realize it.
