My task bar is twice the size that I want it. (I think my 5 year old is the culprit.) I have tried all of the normal fixes, i.e. the taskbar is not locked, when I get the arrow to move it, it goes from to big, to not on the screen. One thing that seems weird is the clock and day is showing, and I am wondering if that has something to do with it. Anyway, I am out of ideas on how to fix it. Please let me know if you have a solution. Thanks!

No of the suggestions so far have helped. It has nothing to do with the icon size, and my computer has been restarted multiple times since the task bar was resized.

Right click on the taskbar, and uncheck where is says "Lock the Taskbar". Then you will be able to place the cursor on the upper edge of the bar and drag it down to make it smaller. Once done, you may want to relock the taskbar to avoid accidental moves or resizes in the future.

Well...this happened to me before. You can either restart your computer(it usually works then.) Or change the size by right-clicking and going to properties and changing it there.
Hope this helps...
