Most of the time the "twitching" is caused by fatigue, sleepless nights, eye strain, constant rubbing, tired eyes from computers work, dry eyes, infection, stress, maybe even a hair or eyelash in the eye. Eye strain of many forms can trigger the response. It usually will clear up on its own. There is little that you can do except to moisten the eye, and clear it of any debris and/or get more sleep.

If the twitching does not stop in a few weeks, consult a Dr. Or if the eyelid does not fully close or if it is closing on its own. There are some serious underlying problems when this occurs.

It is usually nothing to worry about though, just try to drink plenty of water and get enough rest and sleep! Hope this helps.

I've had something like this a few times before, it is caused by a nerve flickering, and with me, is usually when I am tired. It is more annoying than anything else, and does eventually stop. As long as it goes away, and it is not affecting your vision, then you should be okay to do nothing. You could try taking an antihistamine to see if it is hayfever connected. I use piriton which you can buy over the counter at boots.

Myokymia ( twitching of the eyelid ) is a common phenomenon usually due to fatigue . The only way to stop it is to have enough sleep .

Take a good women's multiple vitamin daily, and a calcium magnesium zinc pill with each meal. Eyelid tics and spasms are often a sign of magnesium deficiency. If you are deficient in magnesium you are probably low on calcium and zinc too.
Good luck. Hope this helps.

When I was in school, I got it all the time. My doctor said it was caused by stress. He said that he got it when he was in school too, especially right before final exams. It's about that time right now, are you in school? It did go away after the stress went away. Good luck!
