Actually I have heard from serious bible students that the birth of christ was in October sometime.
However celebrating it in December is the best Idea in the world reguardless if it's true or not! Everyone is so busy running around shopping meeting up with friends and family, enjoying parties, The the last thing people are thinking about (unless your wiccan, pagan) is how the days are getting shorter! How depressing, However everything is alight with the christmas holiday. December 25 that's the day xmas should be celebrated.

Christmas is the official celebration of Jesus' birthday in the Christian Faith... He was believed to actually have been born in February, but the Pagan Yule Celebrations being on 21st December, the Church followed from that and set Christmas at 25th December. If you compare the Christian Festival Calendar to the Pagan Wheel, you will find that most festivals correspond.
Hence, if you want to disobey the set Christian Festival dates, then I guess that's ok... it would be entirely up to you and what you believe you celebrate Christmas for.

I doesn't matter at all. If you're Christian you can celebrate any day as Jesus' birthday as the 25th of December is purely symbolic. But having said that, it IS that date and I wouldn't want the upheaval of it being changed or any other holiday either at this point. We're so used to it now so I don't see any point in changing it.

Actually the Copts, Coptic religion probably the oldest form of Christianity, and Russian Orthodox Church celebrate Christmas on the 7th of January, which is considered by many scholars to be a lot more accurate. None of them seem to mind.
Besides surely you're supposed to be celebrating the beginning of something great and pure and as long as you are the date shouldn't really matter that much.

If they suddenly changed the date of Christmas this year then it would be annoying as everyone is geared to the 25th, but it doesnt matter what day we celebrate His birth in actuality.

No, but answer this. He couldn't have been born in the winter. If they were herding sheep on the day he was born, and they usually do that in the Spring... or maybe sheep were giving birth I don't know and I don't understand your question sorry

No. I don't always celebrate my Birthday on it's actual day because of work commitments. And why all the fuss of lambs being born in spring and not in the cold winter.Jesus was born in Bethlehem, and the average temperature in December is 38%!

Christmas would still be a huge commercial drama, whenever you celebrated it; the real meaning of Christmas is lost on people these days.

No, but it was important for the inventors of Christianity to impose their system on other dominant belief systems. A Pagan festival falls roughly on this date, it was adopted to counter the opposition!

not really as most people realize this was a convenient date for the struggling Christians to get more converts to side with them if they adopted Pagan Celebrations into the Christian Beliefs.
