It either makes me jump up for joy, or it has me crying.
I love Bjork, Annie Lennox, Pet Shop Boys, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Talk Talk, Tears For Fears, to get me all emotional.
I love cheesy pop, so I'll listen to S.A.W. to get me dancing round the living room.
Dead Or Alive, Rick Astley, Bananarama, Kylie etc.- all good for toe tapping moments.
If you're talking about 'classical' music, then it's Durufles Requiem, or Barber - Adagio For Strings, J.S.Bach - B Minor Mass, when I want to get mellow, or William Walton - 1st Symphony (2nd movement) if I'm in a bad mood.

for me, music conveys many emotions- fraom happy to sad- although i prefer uptempo and positive sounding songs myself. this may sound somewhat corny or preachy, depending how you read this, but music is one of the few things in life i cannot bear to live without. as a person who tastes in music vary, i personally don't care what type of music it is, just as long as it is a good song with a good beat, good lyrics and exceptional vocals. i cannot imagine a world without music or our lives without it. we have tv and film, theatre and video games, books and the internet as sources of entertainment, but to be totally devoid of music is just unimaginable. we eat, breathe, sleep and survive through the stuff 24/7. yes, there is always crap and bad music but they are forgotten in our lives, only the good and memorable stuff lives on in our memories. i've loved music since i was 6 years old (i'm 25 now) and so almost all my favourite tracks are either retro or timeless classics or ones i can remember the lyrics to and sing-a-long with. like many people, i'm not too keen on today's music: sadly its all commercially contrived and manufactured, lacking in originality and substance and music execs and the likes of simon cowell care more about making a profit, as opposed to exceptional records that people want to hear. its most definitely nowhere near as superior or as good as the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.

but the great classic songs and songs that are instantly memorable for all the other reasons really do stand the test of time, as the years go by.

Its fun. Can use it to talk to your mates / meet new people ie "u hear ... new album?" or "im going to see ... next week"

Inspiration - used the lyrics of Hey Jude to ask out my 1st g/f "you have found her / now go and get her"
