It's actually a fairly common mid-career change, so no problem. I know people who've made this choice, and the demand for the profession is only growing.

Good luck!

You need a lot of math to be a PT. A age 43 with a lot of children, try going to school to be a physical therapy assistant (PTA) first which is only 12-18 months study in Florida. Then you'll know if you want to continue on with another 2 years of study to become a full PT and can work as a PTA at the same time. PTA's also make good money. Good luck to you!

I went back to college in my forties and found that it was much harder for me than when I was younger. I also found out how much smarter the young people were than me. If you have a willingness, then I would say to go for it. Only good can come to you when you are helping other people. As far as the education issue just keep your eye on your goal, it makes it a lot easier and there is less chance of backing out. After all you want something good for your 5 children.
