My sister is very creative. She has a lot of ideas and creates very beautiful artwork. Whenever we are with friends or family, they always ask me if I know how to do stuff like that too and the truth is, I don't. I feel bad when they ask me because sometimes they are like, how come you don't know how to do things like that? I don't care that people like her work, because I like it a lot too, but I feel like people think I'm not good at anything. Not to sound concieted but I've been told that I am an excellent writer but my writing is very personal and I don't like sharing it with everyone. How do I get people to realize that I am good at things too?

You're absolutely right about waht your question is. Re-read your own question, and you'll see you have answered your own question. There's nothing wrong with people asking you whether you can do what your sister can do. Some people just wonder and they don't think before they talk. There's OK. You're your own unique self, and you're good at writing. Your time will come when you get to show off your creative writings. don't worry so much about it. When you're being asked the same question just be honest and tell them a flat no. I know it is hard to get around that, but if you like your sister's art too just compliment about her too. People will start to realized they don't have to make you feel jealous when you give good compliments about your sister too. Good enough yes?

first of all you have to speak for your self. once they ask you how come you cannot do so and so, you should answer them! say out confidently that you are good at other things your sister cannot do because everyone is different. and bec. you are sisters you are both good at things but you do not have to share the same things. if your sister's work is so noticed you should get your things noticed too!
Trust your own abilities - Make use of your potentials - Discover yourself AND find a goal for your life if you do not have one. when you have one and start working on it, you will find your own potentials rising and blossoming. you might even surprise yourself!

That sounds like a difficult situation. Maybe you could say, no I'm a writer. If they ask to see your work say no or maybe write something just for sharing.

Your sister is creative in one thing...and you are special for something else. Don't feel bad about it...if she is artistic, you might be more logical for example. So, instead ,try to suport her, and put effort on something that you are good at it, and let other people know.

p.s If you are a good writer, then in somoenes birthday write a nice poem for that person...i believe they will appreciated a lot...it's a great gift.

take care.

I can understand where you are coming from. Celebrate your sisters gift by stating, "Yes she's amazing, maybe one day we will do a project together". If they continue by asking you what you mean; just tell them when your write your first book it would be nice to have her illustrate the cover. touche.

just have to be confident on your own talent, no need to think negative every individual has a unique quality, you also have one, its better to share your talent with your close friends than you will gain confidence. so keep yourself happy and dont bother what people say.

Simply say, "My talent is in other areas......with words. I am a writer."

Then, SHARE your writing, if you want people to notice.

Get happy with yourself and be strong, there is no need in being jealous. We are all equal in the eyes of God.
