I have 11 month old identical twins so my memories of pregnancy are pretty close. Here's a few thoughts:

1. All twin pregnancies are considered high risk. This mostly just means that you'll be monitored more closely. After the 20th week I was at the OB's every other week and went for level 2 ultrasounds at least every 3 weeks. Towards the end I had non-stress tests constantly.

2. I had horrible morning sickness too up until about the 30th week. However, I've met other twin moms that only had morning sickness for a short time or not at all. With a twin pregnancy you have double the hormones so your symptons tend to be exaggerated.

3. I was pretty lucky that except for the morning sickness I had a relatively easy pregnancy. It was my first pregnancy though so I had nothing to compare it with. I was able to work full time until a week before I delivered (and that was by choice because it was the holiday season). I even walked to work up until the end! There were times where I definately needed to nap more and thankfully I worked close enough to home that I could take a nap at lunch time. I also had an office job so I was able to sit down as much as I needed.

4. I gave birth at 36w2d via a scheduled c-section. Both babies were healthy weighing 5lbs2oz and 6lbs1oz. They had no NICU time and left the hospital with me.

I joke now that it was so much easier to take care of them when I was pregnant. I hope I answered all of your question. If you're looking for more information about twins I highly recommend the website www.twinstuff.com. Their message board really helped me through my pregnancy.

I am a twin and I had twins. My pregnancy was very high risk as my girl did not have a membrane seperating them and they also shared a placenta. Their cords became entangled and they were in distress and delivered at 31 weeks. Ella was 3 lbs and Emma was 3.6 both were 15 inches long. Ella is very healhty but to this day is kind of small. Emma suffered brain damage and has to be on a ventilator but atleast is here at home with us.

As for the pregnancy it is the main reason I had my tubes tied. Not because it was high risk because that was a fluke thing that would never happen again. The morning sickness is what did it in for me. I threw up 3-10 times a day from week 4 to 31. I had to get iv fluids pretty much every time I had my non-stress tests done (2 times a week) I was uncomfortable, I measured 7 weeks bigger than a person with 1 baby. I had dizzy and fainting spells and preterm labor at 25 weeks and was on bed rest. They gave me medicine to help stop labor that made me want to die it made me feel so sick. It was a horrible experience and I am glad I never have to repeat it.

I do love my twins and thank God I have them every day. But I really wouldn't wish a pregnancy like mine on my worse enemy. My mother had me and my twin sis and didn't even know she was having twins until she went into labor 6 weeks early. We were fine and she enjoyed raising 2 little girls, I enjoy raising my girls too. In the end it is worth it.
