A polypeptide is a relatively small polymer of amide linkages (from amino acids)...when many are joined together in a specific order they become a protein, a much larger molecule.
Many alanine molecules are joined to form the polyamide termed poly(alanine).

Proteins are polypeptide molecules (or consist of multiple polypeptide subunits). The distinction is that peptides are short and proteins are long. There are several different conventions to determine these, all of which have flaws. In order for a polypeptide to be a protein it has to have some sort of biological function in the body.
Peptides (from the Greek πεπτος, "digestible"), are the family of short molecules formed from the linking, in a defined order, of various α-amino acids. The link between one amino acid residue and the next is an amide bond, and is sometimes referred to as a peptide bond.

a polypeptide refers to a long chain of amino acids.
a polypeptide becomes a protein after it has been folded up correctly. This could be a single polypeptide or several polypeptides folded together. If they are not folded precisely then the protein will not function.
And the second part of your question is polyalanine as the others have stated.

Polypeptide : A polymer (chain) of many amino acids linked together by peptide bonds.
Protein : A three-dimensional biological polymer constructed from a set of 20 different monomers called amino acids.

b. The difference between a polypeptide and a protein is size/mass. If the molar mass of a polypeptide exceeds 10000 g, it is called a protein.
