I just try not to be too pushy but always smile and always greet people ,after a while I just talk to them every time I see them . I have never
had a problem making new friends .

Be friendly and nice, but don't spend your time trying to make people like you. People tend not to like people who are begging for attention. I'm not saying this is what you are doing, just letting you know not to try too hard.
