Close is an adjective-the three forms viz- positive,comparative and superlative are- close closer closest.The correct answer is close to and not closer.Closer can be used only when there is a comparision between two for example-I may say-
Rita's house is closer than Sita's.It means the house of Rita is nearer than that of Sita's.in other words distance of Rita's house is less than that of Sita's house.

Depends on what you mean: my friend's house is close to my house - you friend lives near you; my friend's house is closer to my house - "closer" is a comparative, so you must be answering a question of the type "Who lives closer to you, your friend or your teacher?"

Close is the correct word since you are not comparing how close it is in relaitonship to something else.
example: My friends house is closer to my house than my own garage.

The correct is "close"...otherwise you would compare, my friends house is closer to my house than my school is.

My friend's house is close to my house. You would only use "closer" if you were comparing something like; My friend Angie's house is closer to my house than my friend Nicole's house.

The first sentence is complete by itself. Your friend's house is close (presumably to your house).

To use "closer", you need a comparison. It's closer to what?

use closer if you are compairing something
