Mr Berlusconi went on trial last week for alleged fraud and money laundering and could face up to 12 years in jail if convicted. The trial is due to resume in Milan on Monday.
Probably he thinks that if convicted,he could escape prison by pretending he's ill,maybe a disease that can't be treated inside prison...
