Here is my suggestion:
Keep several get well cards on the mantel. When your guests arrive, they'll think you've been sick and unable to clean.

Somewhat, and nope! My house has been filthy lately, I've been cleaning it all weekend just for my own sanity!
But if I had a mantle and if I had relatives coming over, I would surely take your suggestion and run with it anyway.....though I don't think it would really fool my hubby.....

thats a good thing but i try and clean erryday because i dont like walkin about my own house when its dirrty!!
it gets on my nerves lol and i gotta do sum cleanin, but if u do sum cleanin erryday your house will neva be dirty, but the dirt just builds up if you sit back, relax witout doin nuthin!

our house is always clean... i flare up whenever i see unnecessary stuffs here & there..
besides, only my sister's frends might come 4d holidays.

It also helps if you close the shades, dim the lights, and light a few candles, if they can't see you, they can't see the mess either.
